- Keyboard shortcuts - In the main Google Drive page, just type Ctrl+/ (or Shift+?) and the shortcut menu will reveal every keyboard option available.
- Insert a link in a Google Doc. Select the text, click the link icon or hit Ctrl-K, and a menu pops up where you can paste the URL. But if you don't already have a URL for the link, Google will find one for you
- Voice Type in Docs. Open up a Google Doc, and if your computer has a microphone, you have the option to do Voice Typing. If it doesn't come up automatically, you'll find it in the tools menu (Tools > Voice typing). It puts a microphone icon next to the document—click on it to speak, and what you say appears in the doc. The microphone icon pulses when it hears you.

- Editing MS Office files in Google Drive
The Office Compatibility Mode extension in Chrome allows people to view and edit Microsoft® Office files in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Based on feedback, we’ve added a new feature that makes it simpler to use those edited files on the web. This new download functionality provides a person with a local copy of their file instantly, making it easy to upload that file via a webform or to share it in a Microsoft Office format. This feature lives in two places: as an option in the File drop-down menu and as a button in the top right corner of the screen. Check out the Help Center for more information. - Google+ Photos in Google Drive:
In June 2015, NC State accounts will be able to manage and store your Google+ photos and videos in one convenient location — Google Drive. For more information, see View and manage photos and videos stored in your Google Drive. - What to do when Google Drive Breaks: Common Google Drive Errors

- How to know you’re in Office Compatibility Mode (OCM)
- Office files can't be edited in the classic version of Google Drive. Learn more about getting the new Google Drive.
- Open the Word, Excel®, or PowerPoint® file you want to edit.
- Click the File menu.
- If you see “Office Compatibility Mode” in the menu, you can edit the file or save it to Google Docs for the ability to work with others.
- Don’t see “Office Compatibility Mode” in the menu? Make sure that you have downloaded the Chrome extension
- Google Docs is great for general document editing, but if you work with code, a free Chrome app called Drive Notepad may be a better fit. Drive Notepad lets you view and edit plain-text documents in your browser and save them to your Drive account. It offers syntax highlighting for a variety of scripting and programming languages, including HTML, Python, Perl, Ruby and JSON.

- Instantly create a new contact or calendar event - That's where Copy2Contact comes in: The free app puts a special box in your Gmail sidebar; once it's there, you can highlight someone's signature within an email, drag it over to the box, and let Copy2Contact extract all the relevant details and create a new entry in your contacts. It'll even automatically place all the person's details in the appropriate fields. Note: Do not know if it works in the new Gmail contacts manager.
- Embedded content - Why click to open links and attachments when you can view them right within your inbox? You may not realize it, but Gmail can let you see all sorts of content without ever leaving the message in which it's mentioned. Head into those Gmail Labs settings again and look for all the features with "In Mail" in their titles. You'll find options to activate in-message viewing of documents, spreadsheets, and presentations as well as maps, Google Voice voicemails, and photos from Flickr and Picasa.
- Mute - Gmail has a tool to help you quietly excuse yourself from the conversation. The next time you get a message with multiple recipients, click the More button at the top of the screen and select Mute. Gmail will then keep the message archived and out of your inbox, even as new responses trickle in, unless something changes in the thread and a message arrives addressed only to you.
