Required
What would you like to gain from an experience as an Orange County Youth Preparedness Camp participant? *
What are some of your hobbies and interests? *
For the camp to be successful, all students must be actively engaged in demonstrations and learning activities.  There is considerable content covered throughout the week and the camp culminates in a disaster simulation that requires participants to access the knowledge learned throughout the week to be successful.  Will you commit to be an active participant in this camp throughout the week? *
There is a service project associated with this camp that is called PREP+6.  During the camp week, each participant will be asked to ask their household as well as six other households each to agree to work with the participant to develop a household emergency preparedness kit and emergency communication plan.  Follow the camp, participants will work with those households to develop those resources and report back to the camp coordinators once the kits and communication plans are in place.  We will provide the resources you need to help these households, you just need to be the person "on the ground" helping them put it all together.  We will give participants 6-8 weeks to complete the project.  All youth that complete the project will be honored as North Carolina Youth Preparedness Initiative Graduates sometime in mid-Fall.  At the time of this application, do you feel that you would have time and be willing to complete the camp service project? *
Do you have any questions about the camp at this time?
