Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteers of Orange County training program starts Fall 2024.

Thanks for your interest in the Master Gardener Volunteer Program in Orange County, NC!

We want to provide you more information about the training and inform you that we made minor changes to our previous application process.

Classes will be held for 14 weeks beginning on September 4 (Wednesday Mornings) and ending on December 11 with no class during the week of Thanksgiving (November 27).

We will meet from 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Cooperative Extension Multipurpose Room in the Bonnie B Davis Ag Center (1020 US-70 in Hillsborough, NC)

Prior to filling out an application, candidates must participate in an orientation to better understand what our program is about.

Applications will be provided at orientation.

The orientation dates are scheduled for the following days (you only need to attend one):

  • March 20 6-7:30 p.m.
  • April 3 9-10:30 a.m.
  • April 3 6-7:30 p.m.
  • April 17 9-10:30 a.m.
  • May 8 6-7:30 p.m.

Please submit all the dates you are available.

We can only accommodate approximately 25 people for each orientation and will do our best to schedule first come first serve.

We will email you to confirm your attendance to the orientation date and time.

We look forward to meeting you at orientation.

Applications are due May 31,2024 with a $10.00 application fee.

Acceptance confirmations will be emailed out by June 10, 2024.

Cost for the class is $110.
