N.C. Cooperative Extension of Davidson County, along with NC Choices, are hosting a Fall Local Meat Series for Consumers about how to handle and prepare local meat. Participants will gain meat cutting and culinary skills using meat purchased from local farmers! Session topics include food safety, butcher demonstrations, and more!

Content:

Workshops will be the first Thursday of the month from September through December from 9 a.m. until noon at the Davidson County Extension Office (301 E. Center St., Lexington). You must pre-register for this series online. You can register for one session or as many sessions as you want. The cost is $20 per session or $60 for the series. Registration is not complete until payment is received.

Topics include:
– September 6  – Chicken
– October 4 – Pork
– November 1 – Other Poultry (Turkey, duck, Cornish hens)
– December 6 – Beef
