scholarship winnersLuke Fuller, Jacob Forehand, and Sarah White (left to right) were recently recognized as the 2019 recipients of the Katherine G Shook Master Gardener Scholarship by the Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers of Chowan, Gates, and Perquimans Counties. The recent graduates of Perquimans County, John A Holmes, and Gates​ County High School (respectively) plan to pursue agriculture and natural resource related degrees at NC State University. Representing the Master Gardener volunteers is Nancy Dougherty (pictured right). Funds from the annual Spring Garden Show support each $1,000 award. This is the first year the Extension Master Gardener volunteers have extended the award to a student from each area high school.
