Greenville, NC – Want to learn how to preserve those delicious summer fruits and veggies? Join us for the 2019 Food Preservation Series to learn research-based techniques to preserve food safely. Each session will have a hands-on portion where you practice preservation techniques. Classes will be held at 403 Government Circle, Suite 2 Greenville, NC 27834.

  • July 9: Water-Bath Canning-Jams, 10 a.m–1 p.m.
  • July 25: Water-Bath Canning-Pickling, 10 a.m–1 p.m.
  • August 13: Pressure Canning-Vegetables, 10 a.m–1 p.m.-CANCELLED – Due to lack of participants.
  • September 14: Water-Bath Canning- Jams or Jellies, 10 a.m–1 p.m.

To register, call the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Pitt County office at 252-902-1709. Pre-Registration and payment is required two days before class. Accommodation requests related to a disability should be made 10 days before each class to Taneisha Armstrong: 252-902-1714, tsarmstr@ncsu.edu.

Registration is $20 per class. Payments can be mailed or made in person at 403 Government Circle, Suite 2 Greenville, NC 27834. Cash and checks are accepted. Please make checks payable to Pitt Mutual. Please include in your check memo line the name of the class(es) you wish to attend.
