Congratulations to Henry Gregory Dozier IV, who was recently awarded the Currituck County Extension and Community Association (ECA) Scholarship by County Council President Evelyn Henley. Working as a volunteer group for N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center ECA is always looking for ways to encourage higher education and leadership opportunities in the community.

Gregory was a clear choice for the award given his long list of leadership accomplishments through the county’s 4-H program, in which Gregory has been actively involved for several years. Most notably as 4-H County Council President. He has also participated in many community, district, and state events as a result of his involvement in the county 4-H program. Gregory was a two time National 4-H trophy winner and was recently inducted into the 4-H Honor Club, the highest accomplishment of those involved in the program.

Mr. Dozier is a graduate of Currituck County High School. He not only excelled at leading within 4-H but also served as the Trumpet Section leader for two years within the school’s band program. Additionally, Gregory was first chair in the Jazz Band and principle trumpet for two years in the Wind Ensemble.

Gregory Dozier will be attending Western Carolina University in the Fall where he plans to study Psychology with a minor in Leadership and will also be a member of the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band. Gregory’s ultimate career goal is to work for N.C. Cooperative Extension as a 4-H Extension agent where he too can help youth grow through the 4-H program.

N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center and the Currituck County ECA would like to wish Gregory many years of success! To find out more information about ECA or other Extension Programs visit our website.
