The 2019 Apple Festival has come to a close. October 19 brought with it not only the crafts, information booths, and delicious foods, but also the annual Apple Dish Contest. First Federal Savings Bank sponsors the monetary first, second, and Grand Champion prizes awarded in the following categories: Adult Sweet, Adult Savory, Youth 8-12, and Youth 13-17. Here is the list of winners:

Grand Champion:  Jamie Smith, Lincolnton – Caramel Apple Cheesecake

Adult Sweet:  1st Place – Linda Carpenter, Kings Mountain – Apple Cream Pie                                   2nd Place – Lucille Johnson, Vale – Apple Enchiladas

Adult Savory:  1st Place – Linda Carpenter, Kings Mountain – Pork Chops with                                                    Cinnamon Apples                                                                                         2nd Place – Jamie Smith, Lincolnton – Pork and Apple Pie

Youth 8-12:  1st Place – Lily Guffey, Iron Station – Cream Cheese Apple Pie Bars                           2nd Place – Timothy Bosley, Stanley – Apple Ring Cake

Youth 13-17:  1st Place – Philip Riddle, Statesville – Spiced Apple Rings
