Speak Up is a three-session workshop on public speaking. Sessions will be at 3:15-5:15 p.m. on March 23, April 6 and April 20 (every other week). Up to 15 youth ages 10-18 are welcome to attend.

RSVP to Sarah Moyer at sarah_moyer@ncsu.edu or 828-757-1258 by March 16, 2020 to reserve spots. Youth need to be enrolled on 4HOnline by the first session on March 23. Sarah can help you with this, as needed.

Each session will include hands-on activities and games, group discussion and public speaking instructions.

Participants will learn to share ideas through speaking. No matter the skill level, we will have you explore new ideas about how to conquer public speaking. They will be allowed time to practice in a safe environment, and everyone will be there to learn and improve.

We’ll also take time to discuss simple, but important details for public speaking – keys to polishing off presentations.

For current 4-H members, this is a great way to prepare for 4-H presentations. The deadline to pre-register for County Activity Day (CAD) is April 10, and CAD will be on April 28, 2020. More details about CAD registration will be shared by March 1.

More information about 4-H presentations is available on the state 4-H website.
