Need some motivation to get moving? We are excited to announce the first-ever Faithful Families Walking challenge event from Monday, June 8 until Sunday, July 5. Join as an individual or a team as we stay connected while being physically distanced.

The FREE challenge is a fun way to encourage you, your family, and your faith community to be more physically active. Each week of the event, you will receive a newsletter with quick tips and ideas for staying active and connected during this pandemic. Using the Walking Challenge Log you can keep track of how much you walk each day. You will be challenged to increase your walking from week to week. For every 10 minutes of walking, you will receive 1 point. At the end of the challenge, you will count the total number of points you have accumulated throughout the four weeks.

There are two ways you can choose to participate: 1) individually, or 2) as part of a team. To sign up, review the instructions. Sign up yourself or volunteer to encourage others as a team leader. For questions or for more information, contact Carmen Long, Area Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences at Carmen_Long@ncsu.edu or call 336-401-8025 in Surry County or 336-372-5597 in Alleghany County.

Besides feeling better, you will also have the chance to win prizes for participating. Check out ways to win a Fitbit Flex. During these uncertain times, let’s support each other by staying healthy, staying strong, and moving more.
