Virtual Based Program Building Healthy Habits for Youth 

Are your children interested in taking a virtual nutrition education course? If so, Kickin Nutrition is the course that you are looking for. Kickin Nutrition TV (KNTV) is an innovative, evidence-based, digital program designed to educate, entertain, and empower kids to make healthier food and lifestyle choices. KNTV is anchored in technology – featuring engaging videos and interactive learning tools designed for youth and their families. The program utilizes comedy, hip music, and research-based, peer-to-peer videos offering online nutrition instruction, cooking demonstration, and exercise videos. The program is aligned with the common core by grade and was developed by an award-winning former Executive Producer of Sesame Street International, in collaboration with experts from Boston University, Harvard School of Public Health, and Tufts University.

Kickin Nutrition is a 6-week program for rising 4th-7th graders, classes will be held once a week from 11 a.m.–noon, beginning on June 23, 2020.

Count on Me NC
A Mutual Commitment To Keep Everyone Healthy & Safe

The Count On Me NC program is focused on providing the necessary knowledge and information needed to manage COVID-19 within businesses as restrictions are relaxed. These free courses provide a consistent approach based on state and national guidelines. The voluntary program is designed to incorporate the best available science in social and physical distancing, employee health and cleaning, sanitizing and disinfection and is presented in an easy format in both English and Spanish. Each of these short training sessions are under 30 minutes and delivered online in an engaging and interactive format. Participating businesses will be recognized on the Count On Me NC website.

Faithful Families Virtual Walking Challenge

We are excited to announce the first-ever ALL Faithful Families challenge event! Join Faithful Families and partners across the country for the Virtual Walking Challenge, as we stay connected while being physically distanced. During these uncertain times, let’s support each other by staying healthy, staying strong, and moving more.

What is the Virtual Walking Challenge?
The challenge is a fun way to encourage you, your family, and your faith community to be more physically active. Each week of the event, you will receive a newsletter with quick tips and ideas for staying active and connected during this pandemic. Using the Walking Challenge Log, you will keep track of how much you walk each day. For every 10 minutes of walking, you will receive 1 point. At the end of the challenge, you will count the total number of points you have accumulated throughout the four weeks.

Alzheimer’s Virtual Education Programs

No one should face Alzheimer’s alone. Register for one of the Alzheimer’s Association’s free virtual education programs about Alzheimer’s and other dementias, as well as resources to help you navigate this journey. Join from the comfort and safety of your home. Participants will be given the option of joining via video/webinar or through a toll-free number. Registration is required, and registrants will be sent conferencing details prior to the date of the program.
