Woman squatting in field

Hey y’all, I am Mikayla Graham, the new Field Crops Extension Agent
here in Union County. I started my experience with agriculture early,
growing up on a small farm in Rowan County that raises Angus cattle,
soybeans, and wheat. I graduated from NC State University this year
with a major in Crop and Soil Sciences and a minor in Agricultural
Business Management. I loved being a part of the Wolfpack and it
helped me prepare for becoming an extension agent. During my time at
NC State, I held many internships and part-time positions focusing on
plant breeding of different crops and management of crops and forages
for both government agencies and private companies. With all of my
experiences and education, I have the foundation to support the
farmers in Union County in maintaining successful operations.

In my position as the Field Crops Extension Agent, my responsibilities
will include but are not limited to, pesticide education, running
field trials, harvesting yield competition plots, and of course
helping producers with any problems they have or any changes they want
to make with their field crops. Please contact me at my office number
(704-283-3736), my mobile number (704-441-2624), or by email
(mikayla_graham@ncsu.edu) with any questions, concerns, or if you just
want to chat. I’m looking forward to getting to know you and this
community.
