In light of COVID-19 and the cancellations of craft shows, school events and the NC State Fair- Wake County 4-H is excited to offer a VIRTUAL Youth Fair day for youth who live and/or attend school ins Wake County to show off their crafts, projects & skills!

Who can enter the Youth Fair?

The virtual fair is a Wake County wide opportunity to showcase the achievements of youth enrolled in Wake County schools 5-19 years in a safe and responsible way.

What is the Virtual Youth Fair?

The 4‑H Virtual Youth Fair is for community members to showcase their work and accomplishments they are proud of and can come from home hobbies, schoolwork, or club projects and demonstrate what they have learned. Below is the guidebook for fair project entries. The virtual fair is all about learning and fun!

Do the participants win anything?

Winning exhibitors will be awarded ribbons and all participants will receive feedback from judges. Fair ribbons will be mailed to the participants at the conclusion of the Fair.

Does it cost anything?

There are no entry fees.

What can I enter?

Youth may enter a wide variety of projects! Just like at a regular county fair, you can enter arts & craft, foods, photography and more. Try your hand at a STEM Challenge. Or showcase a community service project you completed.

There are also some just for fun classes like the 4-H Attire class and the Recycled Scarecrow class. Have a pet? Consider entering the Pet Costume Contest or the Trick Dog class. If you are have an animal project, you can demonstrate your showmanship skills or highlight your animal knowledge. The virtual fair has opportunities for everyone to get involved!

Process for Entering Exhibits

Register through Eventbrite to receive the confirmation email with uploading entry links for exhibits.

Entering exhibits in the Virtual Fair will be different than entering a typical county fair. Entries (in the form of photos and/or videos) need to be uploaded to the google doc you will receive upon registration.

Photos/videos can be uploaded from a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Detailed instructions are available in the Exhibitors Guide.

The Wake County Youth Fair Exhibitors Guide outlines how many pictures and/or videos you will need to upload. Make sure that you show your work in ways outlined in the guide to show the judges the details they need to best judge your work.
