One of the hallmarks of N.C. Cooperative Extension is providing educational programs in-person with the citizens of our counties whether at the Extension Centers, on farms with field days, 4-H club meetings in peoples’ homes or horse stables, or gardening events and/or nutrition programs at community venues. A second hallmark of Extension is being able to adapt to the situations that impact how we provide the much-needed information by our citizenry. That is where we are at with COVID-19. To follow guidelines that insure that all of us stay safe and healthy, N.C. Cooperative Extension has been employing a video and web conferencing service such as Zoom to provide educational programs.

As a field crops agent, we are fast approaching the winter meeting season for farmers. To be able to conduct educational programs that farmers expect and ask for, Zoom will be employed to do that. The use of this technology will be employed as long as we have concerns and guidelines related to  COVID-19. So that people better understand how to use Zoom, please use the following link to learn more about this technology.
