This cactus is often sold already blooming. The blooms will stay on the plant for several weeks if the plant is kept in a well-lit location out of direct sunlight. As with the other plants allow the soil to dry to the touch before watering.

The cactus is native to a rainforest in South America. This is important, because it means it likes to have high humidity. A way to create high humidity around the plant is to fill a saucer with pebbles and keep water in the saucer but low enough that it doesn’t touch the soil in the container. The water will evaporate from the saucer creating a high humidity environment around the plant.

Don’t be afraid to add a new plant into your life. Flowers indoors can be a joy to the soul. Try a new flower yourself or share one with a friend.
