Lightbulb, pencils, and eraser

Camden County 4-H would like to inform all participants, parents, and volunteers that N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center will be offering a 4-H Project Record Book training via Zoom meeting on December 8, 2020, at 6 p.m. This workshop will provide everything you need to know about project record books including how to compile and how to submit all the details, documents, and deadlines. If you are interested in attending this workshop please register by clicking on the link below. Information concerning the county deadline will be submitted at a later date.

A 4-H project book is a record of activities, knowledge gained, and awards that have been given in one particular program area. The program area can be on dogs, horses, robotics, gardening, fishing, or any subject the child may be interested in. The child chooses their program area and will keep records of all the things he or she has done or learned during the course of working on that project. Most projects are completed in a year and some may be something that a child has worked on for six months. The length of time a child works on the project is determined by how fast and how much the child is going to do in that certain project. Project books are a great tool to help youth learn life skills like record keeping. These life skills are important for youth to learn as they will become adults.
