Collapse ▲COVID-19 has resulted in more food insecurity throughout the state in the past year, and the Cooperative Extension Service at N.C. A&T State University wants to share our agriculture community’s harvest with those in need. N.C. Cooperative Extension, Macon County Center in association with N.C. A&T State University will be hosting a food drive beginning Friday, January 29 until Friday, February 26 in honor of Small Farms Week, (March 21–27, 2021).
Anyone interested in donating canned goods and other non-perishable items, please donate by Friday, February 26, and be part of a statewide Cooperative Extension campaign that feeds the hungry and celebrates small farmers.
Bring your food items to the collection box at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Macon County Center at 193 Thomas Heights Rd., between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday–Friday. Everything collected will be donated to Care Net, of Franklin to feed local food-insecure residents.
