Collapse ▲Craven County Clean Sweep, a program of Craven County Government, will sponsor another Summer Sweep clean-up event on August 7, 2021. Volunteers will be available 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at three meeting sites to distribute gloves, bags, and directions to sites in need. Those locations will be:
- Parking lot of the Craven County Administration Building, 406 Craven Street
- Parking of Havelock City Hall, 1 Governmental Avenue
- West Craven Park, 2791 Streets Ferry Rd., Vanceboro
Participants who already have sites picked out can arrange to receive supplies ahead of time. For additional information, or to report sites in need of attention, call 633-1477 or email tom_glasgow@ncsu.edu.
Craven County is fortunate to have a large number of individuals and organizations who routinely organize clean-up events on their own. Recently, a group of youth and adult volunteers was spotted cleaning up a portion of Old Cherry Point Road in the vicinity of the Craven County Convenience Center and southwards. (Pictured is their haul for the evening.) This community has been quite active in roadside cleanup in recent years. Craven County Clean Sweep strives to support and encourage the good work being done by concerned citizens across the county.
