Public Speaking champion

Currituck County 4-H’er Cayden Lowe continued to excel in the world of public speaking. She placed 6th in the Horse Public Speaking competition and was integral to the NC 4-H Communications team being named Reserve Grand Champion at the Eastern 4-H Round-Up, held in Louisville Kentucky, November 5–7, 2021. This very competitive competition is sponsored each year by the North American International Livestock Association and involves teams from across the nation representing 14 different states.

Cayden earned the opportunity to represent NC 4-H in this prestigious communications contest by winning 1st place in the District and State NC 4-H public speaking contests in July 2021. She also won 1st place at the Southern Regional 4-H Horse Championships in August 2021 and at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in October 2021. Please join us in congratulating Cayden for her impressive performance!

At N.C. Cooperative Extension, 4-H Youth Development strives to equip young people with the knowledge and skills they need to become successful adults. Effective communications and public speaking skills are vital for youth as they develop into tomorrow’s leaders. This annual public speaking contest is open to all Currituck County youth.
