Cherokee County 4-H is looking forward to more 4-H Clubs opening back up to members in January 2022.

The Hiwassee Dam Soaring Eagles 4-H Club and the Bunnies, Bovines, and Birds 4-H Club plan to start back in January 2022. If you have a child ages 5-18 both clubs will be open for enrollment through 4-H Online  after January 10, 2022.

The Hiwassee Dam Soaring Eagles 4-H Club meets after school and will be meeting in Mrs. Sharkey’s class at HDHS as long as COVID rules at the school allows. Please be on the lookout or call Shannon Coleman about the club and when they will begin meeting. This club is a 4-H community club and has a focus on community service.

The Bunnies, Bovines, and Birds 4-H Club is adding Bees to its name and are excited to get started back after a long break due to COVID. This club focuses on pretty much any animal except horse since we have a great 4-H Horse club that already focuses on horses. Youth that are participating in the Extension Chick Chain hosted by Cherokee County Center of N.C. Cooperative Extension will be enrolling in the club to help them learn more about raising their chicks. This club teaches about caring for animals/bees, showing animals, and general knowledge of animal welfare. Please be on the lookout or call Shannon Coleman about the club and when they will begin meeting. This club general meets at the Extension Meeting Room at 699 Conaheeta Street, Murphy, NC.
