Cherokee County 4-H will once again be conducting its annual plant and fruit tree sale. All proceeds go to Cherokee County 4-H. As usual, the plants and trees will be of high quality and reasonably priced. The plant and tree sale will start at the end of January and go through the middle of March. Plants usually are available for pick up the first or second week of April.

Plants and trees that will be sold are as follows:

Note: Some of the plants come in usually as bare-root except blueberries. The nursery sometimes will send some other plants in pots but expect bare-root.

To get your name on the list to receive an order form for the plants you may call (828) 837-2210 ext. 4  to get a form emailed or mailed to you. Printable order form with descriptions will be available on this site at the end of January. In order, to keep the prices low pre-payment of all orders is necessary. Sorry, all orders are cash or checks only. All sales and purchases are final – The quality of the plants needs to be evaluated by the purchaser at the time of pick-up. The 4-H program cannot replace or refund plants that perish once they leave the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Cherokee County Center.

All fruit should be picked before becoming over-ripe.

The proceeds will help Cherokee County 4-H, in North Carolina to continue quality programming in Cherokee County, NC. These programs allow youth to experience many opportunities and to “Learn by Doing.” Cherokee County 4-H has many new programs and many ongoing programs that provide youth age’s 5-18 learning experiences and challenges. Some of the programs that are ongoing and need your support are local 4-H Community Clubs, 4-H School Enrichment Programming (such as 4-H Electricity), 4-H Project Clubs (such as Cherokee Riders 4-H Horse Club), and 4-H Summer Camp. Not only does this help the different club activities but also it helps to provide funding for transportation of youth to such things as 4-H District Activity Day and 4-H Congress without costing the parents as much for travel. Cherokee County 4-H depends on fundraisers like this in order to help keep providing quality programs to youth in the community.
