Collapse ▲It is that time of year again, 4-H Presentation time! This is a fun event where youth can share skills, knowledge, and excitement about their 4-H project or anything they are interested in. Public speaking is one of the TOP skills that 4-H alumni say they have learned through the 4-H program that they have used in their college and adult life. We encourage ALL AGES to do a 4-H Presentation and encourage our younger 4-Hers to start doing them early.
We will be holding two 4-H Presentation workshops where 4-H’ers can learn more about presentation requirements, get help in creating their presentation and more! The first workshop will take place on Wednesday, May 3rd from 4:00-5:00 p.m. This first session will be more of an introduction to presentations. The second workshop will be a drop-in style on Wednesday, May 10th from 2-5 p.m. During this second workshop, youth can “drop-in” to do a practice run of their presentation, get feedback and prepare for the county competition!
Yancey County 4-H Presentation Competition Day is Monday, May 22, 2023 at the Yancey Extension Office. You will be able to make an appointment to present your talk any time between 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. Click here to make an appointment for Yancey County Activity Day! County winners will be eligible for district competition at District Activity Day which will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023.
