Prepare for the June 9, 2022 Exam*— Training course consists of 5 classes that must all be attended to adequately learn to identify the plants.

Class Dates and Locations: (9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Held mostly outside rain or shine!) April 22, 29, May 6, 20, and June 3 Classes to be held at Jericho Farms, 380 Washington St., Pikeville, NC 27863 and other locations in Goldsboro and Wilson. (*CPP Exam which is not part of the course will be given in Wilmington, NC.)

Certified Plant Professional (CPP) is a written and plant identification test administered by the NC Nursery and Landscape Association that recognizes proficiency in the nursery workforce, upgrades the status of nursery professionals, creates opportunities for career advancement and provides the public with a means of identifying qualified nursery professionals. Applicants for the exam/certification must pass a written and plant identification test by correctly answering 70% of the questions on each and document 2 years of experience in the green industry or be in a 2-4 year college program or be a college graduate in the field.

Participation in this course will help you pass the exam but does not guarantee it. Participants must come to all training dates, be on time, not leave early, ask questions, speak in botanical names, and study outside of class if they expect to learn the plants. Quizzes will be given weekly and graded by instructors.

Materials required: Clipboard, paper, pen, pencil, and highlighter. Taking pictures of plants is helpful also. Participants are not required to register for the exam but can (if interested) and purchase study manual (separate cost) at www.ncnla.com. You can just take the course for the knowledge gained. View CPP Plant ID Course Registration Flyer, view Certified Plant Professional Forms, or call 919-816-9119 x1000.
