Collapse ▲Those with pesticide licenses are required to obtain continued education credits to recertify these licenses. The number of hours needed for recertification and the length of time required to obtain these hours will vary according to the license type. As example, those with Research and Demonstration or Ornamental and Turf licenses must obtain 10 hours of credits within 5 years. In contrast, a Private Applicator must obtain credits in the two-hour Pesticide Safety category and two hours of credits on his own (Specialty Credits, Category X).
Fortunately, the NCDA & CS Pesticide Division has these credit recertification requirements outlined at their webpage listed at the Training Calendar. This webpage can be searched by credit type, date, location and more. Face to face classes as well as online training is provided at this site.
Classes offered within Craven, Carteret or surrounding counties that provide credits are listed on the NC Craven Extension website, under the “Events” section. Registration links and other information is provided at this site and will be updated should adverse weather impact a meetings’ schedule.
