N.C. Cooperative Extension – Gaston County Center is proud to partner with First United Methodist Church in Stanley (aka Common Ground) to support their work in fighting hunger and food insecurity. The church provides a drive-thru food pantry where local area residents can come for non-perishable food items once every 30 days. This pantry program is funded by the church and run by volunteers – community support and volunteers makes a big difference!
Want to learn more about how you can support Common Ground’s Drive-Thru Food Pantry? The public is welcome to “assist and see” the pantry in action on March 28, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. During this time you can assist with food distributions, food tastings, and learn more about the program. You will get to meet church members, Extension Master Food Program volunteers, and Extension staff, while learning how you can make a difference in fighting hunger.
