Ten Franklin County 4-H’ers attended the Northeast District Teen Retreat on Friday, March 31st-April 2nd. Youth traveled to the Eastern 4-H Center in Columbia, NC to stay two nights and 3 days. Youth attended workshops including but not limited to: becoming a district or state officer, wildlife and environment and public speaking. Franklin County 4-H is proud to have one current district officer in the President seat and one state officer in addition to two incoming district officers for the 2023-2024 year. Youth learned about leadership, citizenship, how to participate in a business meeting, and voting process for officers. On the last night of Teen Retreat the youth got to participate in a banquet and dance.

Franklin County 4-H encourages youth to participate in district and state events to open up their minds for future careers and opportunities. It was a great event and we all had a great time. For more information about 4-H Youth Development contact 919-496-3344 or  Meg Wyatt, meg_wyatt@ncsu.edu
