Human Use
We examined historical records and current uses to determine the human impact on the site of the past, present, and future.
Plants
We determined forest community types, documented snags, and cataloged invasive species.
Soils
We gathered soil samples to evaluate the site's overall soil health, focusing on assessing heavy metal concentrations, pH values, nutrient content, soil horizons, and bioindicators.
Trails
We mapped trails, highlighted areas with high levels of erosion and other hazards, and noted locations where signage could help with traffic flow.
Water
We examined physical, chemical, and biological metrics of the Haley's Branch to assess its health.
Wildlife
Cardinals, and otters, and toads, oh my! A look at the birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians that roam 286.
