It's Beginning to Feel a Lot Like Tournament Season

I hope that all of you are wrapping up the school year and are ready to relax over winter break. In case your relaxation involves diving into NCSO events, below you will find more information than you ever wanted about the upcoming season.

SAVE THE DATES

January 15, 2022 - Last day to register teams or make adjustments to JV team numbers.

January 20, 2022 - B/C Coaches meeting - to answer all your burning questions about regionals. The meeting will start at 7pm via Zoom. A zoom link will be sent to all registered coaches prior to the meeting.

January 24, 2022 - Sign-ups will open for all self scheduling events.

February 3, 2022 - Car Office hours at 7pm via Zoom. Distances for tracks will be announced at this virtual meeting.

SLATE OF EVENTS

We have slightly modified the North Carolina slate of events from the National Science Olympiad slate this year. Be sure that you are preparing for the events listed on our website.

REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS

Everyone will be at school together competing under the supervision of coaches in Satellite mode. Coaches will ensure that students have an appropriate environment and only the correct resources to complete the tests. ALL test events will happen on February 5th.

Each regional has then scheduled a drive-thru day for testing the things that can’t be done from school

Awards ceremonies will be virtual and streamed on the NC Science Olympiad YouTube channel at announced times.

WRIGHT STUFF

Kit makers have been frantically shipping kits over the last week, so we will keep this event as written. Be sure to check the clarifications on the resource page this event has a few tricky pieces! If you have a kit with a switch and don’t know how to fix it, let us know, we have coaches willing to help with soldering.

STATE TOURNAMENT

The 2022 State Tournament will be in person at NC State April 22 & 23. Opening ceremony activities and trial events will begin at 2pm on Friday. All events counting towards the team score will be on Saturday, April 23.
