Protect the Pack: SecureU

Cyber attacks are on the rise on NC State’s campus. Hackers are even more creative in their attempts to con you out of your personal information.Protect the Pack: SecureU

Their recent scams involve the IRS, financial aid, immigration status, and technical support. They’re even masquerading as employers!

If they succeed, then they can use your information to steal your identity, compromise your computing device, or steal your money.

Don’t underestimate your ability to fight back. More than ever, you need to know how to protect yourself against cybersecurity attacks that threaten your personal and sensitive data.

In celebration of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) in October, the Office of Information Technology (OIT), along with the NC State Department of Computer Science, ePartners Program, and NC State Engineering Foundation, will sponsor “Protect the Pack: SecureU,” a series of conversations with leading security experts on the latest cybersecurity trends and threats, effective security measurements as well as the hottest careers in cyberland.

Once you’ve attended SecureU, you’ll be equipped to recognize cyber threats and implement safeguards to protect sensitive data that belongs to you and the university.

October 2018 marks the 15th annual NCSAM event sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security in cooperation with the National Cyber Security Alliance to increase the awareness and prevention of online security problems.
