Where is parking?

Parking for the event is free and on-site. Parking attendents will assist you in finding a spot. Please arrive early so you don't miss your desired tour.

What do I need to bring?

This event is rain or shine, so come prepared in layers, rain attire, hats, sunscreen, & water. We will have water bottles as well throughout the day. And, be sure to wear appropriate shoes for navigating field conditions.

What happens if I need to leave early?

No problem! Just find a MHCREC Staff Member and we will help get you back to your vehicle.

How much walking is involved?

Our trams will take you as close as possible to each field location. From that spot, you might have to walk to hear the speaker in the fields. Be prepared for field conditions. Wear appropriate shoes.

What time do I need to come if I only want to see the Apple Tour?

If you only want to see the apple tour, we would recommend that you arrive by 8:30 for registration and the apple tour will begin at 9am.

What time do I need to come if I only want to see the Tomato Tour?

If you only want to see the tomato tour, arrive by 10:30am and that tour will begin at 11am.

What if I only want to come for lunch?

If you only want to participate in lunch, we don't blame you! It is also our favorite. Arrive by 12:30 for lunch which will take place at 74 Research Drive.

What time do I need to come if I only want to see the Nursery Crops & Specialty Field Tours?

If you only want to see nursery crops & specialty crops, arrive by 12:30 if you'd like to eat lunch with us, or by 1:30 if you are skipping lunch. That tour will begin at 2:00pm.

What if I want to see all the tours?

Stay all day! We'd love to have you with us all day. We promise to make it worth your while!

What will I learn?

Project Leaders & Graduate Students will be in the fields to showcase their research projects. You'll see new varieties of plants, hear about pesticide management techniques, learn about diseases impacting the various industries and how our research is combating the problems facing horticulture.
