Writing Program
Effective written communication is imperative to one’s success throughout their time as a graduate student and further into their career. The NC State Graduate School offers professional development in the areas of academic and professional writing. We use active learning principles to help advanced degree holders become more effective, productive writers regardless of their academic discipline or career path and to apply what they learn in our programs to communicate with diverse groups in a myriad of professional settings. Our writing programs equip graduate and postdoctoral scholars with tools for clear, concise, audience-centered writing as well as how to stay motivated and productive on large writing projects. We also provide a non-credit Writing Certificate that, upon successful completion, will be notated on your transcript.
