Program open to youth ages 8-14 (As of January 1, 2024)

This program allows youth to learn how to safely interact with horses. Youth will learn basic equine safety including grooming and leading a horse.

Youth with no previous horse experience preferred.

Close-toed shoes required.

Due to the reactionary nature of the horse, participants are asked to keep noise to a minimum and no running in the facility. Other children not participating in the program must remain outside the arena with their parents. Disruptive participants and attendees may be asked to step outside at any time.

All youth must enroll in 4-H. Enrollment is free, but is required before participating. During enrollment, you will be asked if you understand and agree to abide by the North Carolina 4-H Youth Development Program Liability Waiver, Assumption of the Risk, Photo & Media Release, and Indemnification Agreements.
