About this event

Join us for an on-farm workshop that will be held at RH Farm located in Burlington, NC. Please use the following address to get to the farm and then look for the farm sign entrance to turn in: 3941 Cates Loop Rd. Burlington.

The agenda will include:

  • Farm tour (look at farm layout, pastures/grazing design)
  • Feeding the hard keeper or senior horse
  • Importance of weighing horses (with a demo)
  • Body condition scoring and more!

We will also hear from an Alamance County Animal Control Officer on what to do if you run across a horse situation that needs to be reported such as neglect/starvation.

Please arrive for check-in starting at 5:30 pm. The program will start promptly at 6:00 pm and conclude at 8:00 pm. Please wear appropriate attire for walking around a farm and being near cattle. I highly suggest wearing sunscreen, insect spray, etc.

There will be a portable restroom on-site. Light refreshments including water will be available. There will be moderate walking involved. You are also welcome to bring a folding chair for the times where we will not be walking.
