Our young members, the Cloverbuds, attended swimming lessons at the ViQuest pool from July 17th to July 21st. Their instructor, Miss Marti, provided excellent care and instruction to our Cloverbuds.
They learned how to blow bubbles, which Miss Marti said was the most important swimming skill. Once they mastered that, they learned to float on my back and do the deadman’s float. After that, they learned the tiger crawl. From there, they put the deadman’s float and tiger crawl together to be able to swim. Additionally, they learned how to tread water. By learning the three survival skills of floating, deadman’s float, and treading water they should be able to handle any water emergency that they would have. Additionally, they were taught about water safety and what the different flags mean.
Miss Marti, Miss Linda, Miss Regan, and Miss Megan were awesome instructors! Enjoy these videos of some of the campers using their new skills.
