Our annual 4-H Holiday Workshop was once again successful, creating lots of memories and art for each participant. The workshop was held on November 22, which was a day off from school for Cherokee County students. It begin at 8:30 a.m. and ended at 5:00 p.m. at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Cherokee County Extension Meeting Room, in Murphy. Supplies, lunch, and snacks were included in the workshop cost which was only $40.

Each youth painted a holiday trucks that could be used for centerpieces or a wall hanging. The trucks had interchangeable holiday themed inserts so the youth could change what the truck was hauling according to the season not only for Thanksgiving and Christmas but also Valentines Day, Easter, Summer, and the 4th of July.

Youth painted ceramic turkeys, pumpkins, and a ceramic Christmas tree ornament. They also made very personalized stockings.

At the end of the day we sent home our 4-H Bread in a Bag ingredients and recipes for the participants and their families to make two loaves of yummy yeast bread together.

The trucks and all their craft projects were a variety of colors and each participant added their own unique flair to their creations.
