The Sampson County office offers various equipment and tools that can be rented by the public. Below is a list of items available for rent, the associated fees, and any necessary rental agreements.

Soil Probe

The soil probe is used to collect soil samples to be analyzed. This can be used in lawns, gardens, pastures, and crop fields. There is no fee for renting the probe, however, we will collect $10 at the time the probe is signed out which you will receive back when the probe is returned to our office. The rental period is for a maximum of 5 days. Give the office a call at 910-592-7161 or stop by to ask about renting the soil probe.

Hay Probe

The hay probe is used to collect a core sample from round and square bales. This method collects a more representative sample than collecting grab samples. The probe attaches to a handheld drill which we also provide. There is no fee for renting the probe, and the rental period is for a maximum of one week. For more information about collecting hay samples and to schedule a time to pick up the probe, contact Paul Gonzalez.

Cattle Chute

The cattle chute includes a scale with a scale box. You will need your own vehicle and it will require a pin hitch. The fee to use the chute is $50 for two days and $20 for each additional day. A rental agreement must be signed and payment made before the chute can be used. Contact Paul Gonzalez to reserve a rental date,

Trailer with Panels
