Collapse ▲Tom Devine is the Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent for North Carolina Cooperative Extension-McDowell County Center. Tom grew up on his family’s farm in Catawba County where he developed his passion for agriculture. In his younger years, he spent many days in an Extension office because of his involvement in NC 4-H youth livestock programs.
He graduated with an associate’s degree in agriculture from Connors State College in Warner, OK in 2010. Then, he transferred to University of Arkansas where he completed both a bachelors and masters degree in Animal Science. His academic and research careers have had a major focus on beef cattle production, mainly from the reproductive physiology side of the industry.
Tom and his wife, Alyson, have served as 4-H volunteers and enjoy helping mold the minds of our youth in agriculture.
